New gaming build I am putting together a gaming build for a friend. His budget is around 1k-1.5k. Pretty straight forward except I wasnt sure of the ssd for the z68. well here we go: Core components ASUS P8Z68-V Pro Z68 LGA1155 ATX 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2 PCI B3 Motherboard: $208.62 Intel Core i5 2500K: $209.99 G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL Ripjaws: $29.99 Corsair TX650 V2 650W ATX: $79.99 Storage Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA3 6GB/S 7200RPM 64MB: $79.99 Kingston SSDNow V100 Series 64GB 2.5IN SSD SATA Solid State Disk Flash Drive: $79.99 GPU XFX Radeon HD 6950 800MHZ 2GB 5.0GHZ DDR5 2XDVI HDMI 2x Mini DisplayPort Fansink PCI $274.99 - $30 MIR CPU cooling Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus $29.98 Case Coolermaster CM 690 II Basic $84.99 total: 1078.53 minus some price match here and there for about -$30 tell me what you think! much appreciated! |
looks good. go 2tb green for storage instead. and the haf 912 |
I am getting the 690II for 65$ explain the advantage over the 690II please. and for the storage I heard the caching performance is also capped by the performance of the HDD itself. |
ok better built? at least seems more solid to me. ok on the hdd. |
I will stick with the 690II well I think the cm 690II has better finish and can match all of the things haf can offer... and it's only 6 dollars more to fork out in my case. not to mention haf looks like an abomination. |
kinda bummed out that we missed the Gigabyte Z68X-UD4-B3 at 139.99... it would've been perfect. |
ok...:) post some piccies of the buils will ya? :) |
will do! can anyone recommend me some fans for the case as well as the cpu cooler on push pull? |
Noctua 1300 or sytche 1900 (which RPM you prefer) for the cpu, Enermax makes very nice case fans. |
