My System Specs

Default 2500k or 2600k

i am going to replace my current mobo cpu and ram as soon as i sell some stuff. is it worth the diffenece in price to go with the 2600k over the 2500k, i dont plan on watercooling it and overclocking it till the winter. i do mild gaming and alot of encoding and what not. i plan on using the ASUS Maximus IV GENE-Z Z68, and 16gbs of ram to be decided. and the 2600k says it has hyper threading and the 2500k doesnt, so im assuming the 2500k does not. thanks for your help guys.

For encoding a 2600k is absolutely worth the extra $ over 2500k.

Stricly for encoding, the hyper-threading is a no brainer. 50$ is nothing to save 20-30% in encoding time!

Don't forget to fold on the 2600 when you're not using it...
