if you dont overclock look into h/z boards :)
maybe 8 gb of ram?
wd blue or black for drive?
earthwatts 380 for onboard, 400-500 for the 6870 if you will be gaming much? :)
i would still get a 6950 though ;)

Add a new CPU cooler to this:

EDIT

Thats a Z68 board!

Get a P67

MSI P67A-G43 (B3) P67 ATX LGA1155 DDR3 2PCI-E16 3PCI-E 2PCI CrossFireX SATA3 USB3 Motherboard - DirectCanada

Also, shop at NCIX, and use their pricematch option to price match everything with shopbot.ca

@NIX: Nice config, can you tell me the website?

The website that config is priced at is newegg.ca

But I suggest you do the pricematch at NCIX.com

I must leave for the day, I will reply afterwards. You may be able to save money with a lower cost processor

yup,they are.

the above build is really nice.

how much gaming are you going to do?

6870 is kinda inbetween. do scrap up the money for a 6950 or dont get any exra gpu right now and wait till you have the cash for a betetr one? :)

For onboard video you are probably better off going with a Llano cpu and mobo...that way you can get directx 11 capable onboard video.

Ok,since you said you will not be overclocking, that sorta changed things. The motherboard can be a cheaper one. Also, this includes shipping and tax. I am in Ontario.

To the community, do you think he is better off going with a 2500K over the 2400 for resale value? The $25 more it costs puts him over the $1000. In the long run I think it would be better.

To OP, it is $992 with the 2400, rather than the 2500K. I would see what others think about the 2500K before buying.
