why dont you take a look at the ncix ud4 from giga? its in special.

i love the gd65's and up from msi. but the giga is even cheaper,while in special!

what psu? dop you really need to spend that much on an ssd? :)

Thanks for the reply - PSU is my trusty corsair modular from my existing build. It is a 650 if I recall correctly. I have not yet built with Gigabyte - probably should give them a try. But I have had such excellent luck with MSI that I thought I would stick with them. If anybody is curious, I am also recycling my 5850 for one more tour of duty, perhaps in xfire when my budget recovers. This is 891 when you add in the GST.
Dangtx, do you have a better option for the SSD? I thought that wasn't too bad for a 160GB - maybe I should check that.

well,maybe a 60 giger for os? if i recall correctly ak likes the calisto ones quite a bit.

Hmmm - yes, I was kind of wondering if the 5850 would cut it now. But I only have a 22 inch monitor and I game at 1650 X whatever it is. Plus lately my titles of choice aren't graphics intensive, like ME2 - 5850 glides through that. I have not tried the newest crysis though. I may keep the 5850 for a few months and then check out deals on new cards. I wonder about smaller SSD as boot drive - most games want to store part of themselves on C and I have had some trouble convincing them to store on a different drive in the past. Does that work well for you?

yes. winders will take maybe 15 gigs,maybe 20

and the rest 40 is for games,bit of swap if you put it there.
