IMHO I would look into an i5 Intel 2500K cpu and either a P67 or Z68 mobo for it. That is about the best bang for the buck combo (at time of posting this) for gaming.

Flashing to the latest bios would be the best option. The 965 may work after you do so. If not, newegg has a 925 for $90 + S/H.

Thanks for the replies.. I think I am just gonna get brand new system. Looking at the Intel Core I7 2600K 3.4Ghz. What Mobo do you guys recommend around the 200-250$ range? I also want to run Tri Channel and at least 12 GB.

The Giga one has a lot of bad reviews and problems with bios issues when overclocking. I am going with Corsair H60 Cooler so want to try overclocking, since I never really bothered before.

How is the Asus P8Z68-V Pro intel Z68 Board?

For RAM, is there a lot of difference between Dual & Tri Channel ram when it comes to speed? There's a lot of different speeds for the Rams, just want to get an idea whats good to get. I want at least 8 GB.

Also looking at the following Mobo ASROCK Z68 Extreme 4.
