$1500 Gaming System (first build)

Hi there,

Budget does not include the monitors. Looking to run this build under two of these and possibly add my 32inch LCDTV (720p HDMI) -

Additional Comments: How does the display port work? Would I need to buy a second video card to run more then 2 monitors (+1 HDTV)?

Not sure on the video card, any advice would be great.

EDIT: switch the i7 2600k to a i5 2500k. Used the money save to add a 64GB SSD

it looks pretty good but change the 2600k to a 2500k. there is no need for the 2600 you really wont see a difference except like 2-3 frames at the most.the 6970 is nice a good choice for what you wanna do but you can always get a 6950 reference and unlock it or with the savings of switching to a 2500k and moving down to a 6950 you could get a second 6950 for crossfire and be rockin it for a few years no problem. and 2500 is a great chip the only reason you would need a 2600 is if you fold so thats the reason to switch. hoped i helped some what

Thanks for the advice Techman. Seems you where right, the 2600k is overkill. Swapped for a 2500k and added an SSD.

If your not overclocking drop the k chip..
I know you said in a few years.. but it's just dead dosh till then. You can pick up a bigger chip (second hand or at much reduced price at end of it's life) and drop it in when you feel you need more oomph..

Just a suggestion if you won't be ocing for "a few years"
