Gaming Upgrade

I'm thinking about upgrading the CPU on my gaming rig:

Phenom II X2 550 - OC @ 3.7-3.8ghz
Sapphire HD 6870
Asus m4a79xtd evo
4GB Mushkin DDR3 12800

Would it be worthwhile to upgrade to say a quad core 955 which I've seen for around $110-$120 lately or a hex core like the 1090t? Would it be best to wait for the Zambezi chips to be released to see if the prices drop on the current AM3 processors?

Would it be better to just wait and upgrade with a new motherboad and get either a Zambezi processor or a sandy bridge processor?

just make it easy on yourself for the time being and drop an X6 in there :P, clock a 1090T to 4.0ghz, it should give you a very nice boost, then wait for Ivy Bridge to come out to see how it compares with Bulldozer.
