You were considering an entire new build?

My suggestion is a 6950/560ti on the GFX card now and wait for the rest...

Nope not a new build. My GPU died so I want to replace it now with one that will last me a few years and then in Sept or so replace the MB,CPU, RAM. Budget for GPU is around 500.

500 just for gpu.. wow.. :P

Anyway.. I stand by my suggestion..
In that pc anything larger would be wasted and as said there is new stuffs happening come closer to the end of the year.. (isn't there always)

IMO, spend a minimum as a stop-gap even second hand. Then build a whole new rig when your happy with whatever comes out.

Now I am really confused. Bulldozer is a CPU and GPU?

In any case to buy a stop gap card does not seem to make much sense to me. I can buy a $250 card now. Sell it for $100 in 4 months to buy a $500 GPU that really cost me $650 because of what I lost on the resale. Or I can just buy a $500 card now and be done with it. As you said, there is always something new coming out. The card may betoo much for this system, but this stem is being upgraded in Sept.

Bulldozer kinda is.. But not what I was talking about...

Your ALWAYS going to lose money on parts whatever way you look at it.
If you look at it another way, getting a top card now will cost more than the same card in a few months and ALOT more if there are new ones released about then (think Nov for new gen cards?)

Your always going to trade performance for price.

The way I see it, this is only my view, is that if I had that kind of money to spend on a card, I would get it at release.
A few months before it's replaced as the top card is just not good value to me.
I'd rather spend a little now and more later to be at the top for longer, rather than allot now and have the card replaced as the best I can have in a few months. (especially as the machine will limit the performance you get from the card for a few months too)

(This is assuming there is a new gen of cards out this winter, which I think there is?)
In this case I would buy (probably second hand) something to fill the gap that your now dead GPU has left.

Again this is only my opinion, which you asked (generally) for, the decision is obviously yours. (In-case I sounded pushy)
