$1000 Budget Gaming PC

Hi, I'm looking to build a gaming PC on a $1000 budget (That includes the monitor. And it needs to be $1000 after shipping/taxes). I just want the best I can get for my budget that will play most of the newer games.

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.

Mainly gaming. Nothing else really.

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

Canada.

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture.

I am open to all brands.

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.

None. I am on a netbook right now .

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.

I have read a lot of threads. But never found what I was looking for.

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.

Depends on the parts. But I'd probably keep it at stock.

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?

As soon as possible.

9. What resolution do you use?

Depends on what monitor I get.

hmmm

start off with a sandy bridge build, i highly sugest getting the unlocked 2500k
mate it to a nice mobo,or ratehr look up ncix special combos.
gd65 from msi,asus sabertooth,ud4 from giga.
you can do cheaper,just less features,

ram wise 4 gigs should be ok,if not 8 sicne its cheap

gpu one 6950,and lcd try to a sammy 24 incher or such

psu,corsair,seasonic built,all good.500 watts and up for single card..

hdd wise, either a smaller ssd for os or a 500gb black,f3 sammy,and 2tb green for storage

case, haf 912 is a killer for price/features

and so on..:)

An i5, 6950, and an SSD are out of my reach :\.

ram = 50$
psu = 60$
case = 60$
hd = 80$

Downgrade to a gtx 460 or equivalent for ~150$ and you have 200$ for a monitor. Unless you also need an OS

Don't forget taxes and shipping. That would come to over $1100.

not quite. 350-360 for the 2500k combo
250 or so for the 6950
75 for psu..single card and mild oc wont requite a monster lol..stock youll probably be pulling
300 watts maybe? 400 overclocked.
and so on...


you can do it. get a wd black/samsung f3 500 giger and see later on for storage

get the 1gb version of the card

and...hmmmm.......

or get the locked i5 and a cheaper mobo....but no overclocking there
the good part though is that it has a lot of computational power stock so..

also try memoryexpress they got free shipping after a certain sum of money,should save you a good 50 or more bucks

That's the cheapest ATX Intel board. And the 2500 is only like $10 less. And if I were to get a 6950 I would get the 2GB version so I can unlock it. And Memoryexpress is more expensive.
