My System Specs

Cool New Build- Opinions Wanted

So i guess i have to post this(i am a newcomer so be nice )

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
Mostly gaming, but also for video editing and music creation

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
$1700

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
Good ol' Canada

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture.
Well this is my first build, so i haven't really developed any preferences yet so none here.

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
None

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.
MANY

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
Yes, overclocking

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Hopefully this weekend, but probably later

9. What resolution do you use?
1080p

Now with that out of the way, here is what i plan on buying:

CASE: Corsair Obsidian Series 650D

Mobo: ASUS Sabertooth P67
NCIX.com - Buy ASUS Sabertooth P67 Rev 3.0 P67 LGA1155 DDR3 2PCI-E16 3PCI-E1 1PCI Sandy Bridge B3 Motherboard - ASUS - SABERTOOTH P67 <REV 3.0> - in Canada

Cpu and cooler: Intel Core i5 2500K
-Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H50 High Performance CPU Cooler

Gpu: MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr OC
NCIX.com - Buy MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr OC 880MHZ 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI Mini-HDMI DX11 PCI-E Video Card - MSI/MicroStar - N560GTX-TI Twin Frozr II/OC - in Canada

Psu: Corsair Professional Series Gold AX750
NCIX.com - Buy Corsair Professional Series Gold AX750 CMPSU-750AX 750W ATX Fully Modular 80PLUS Gold Power Supply - Corsair - CMPSU-750AX A - in Canada

RAM: Patriot Extreme Performance Gamer Series 4GB
NCIX.com - Buy Patriot Extreme Performance Gamer Series 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24 Dual Channel Memory Kit - Patriot - PGS34G1600ELK - in Canada

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA3 6GB/S

OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

DVD: ASUS DRW-24B1ST 24X SATA DVD Writer

Monitor: ASUS VE247H 23.6IN Widescreen LED LCD Monitor 1920X1080
NCIX.com - Buy ASUS VE247H 23.6IN Widescreen LED LCD Monitor 1920X1080 2MS 10M1DC HDMI DVI-D VGA Speakers - ASUS - VE247H - in Canada

total is $1700 and that's all i have, so if i need to upgrade, also suggest what i should downgrade
(i have already price matched everything)

Is AX750W good enough for sli+overclocking?

Small side Question, what color cathodes should i get green, red or blue?

thanks!

actually go air, hr-02. fanless, kills the h50/70.

i wouldve gotten a reference 2gb 6950 though, or even a 1gb one if youll use a single monitor.

that psu will be fine for dual cards,in that range, yes. and cpu overclock

200-225 watts for the system oc'ed

and for the cards :

the H70 has a thicker rad; more surface area for heat transfer

dan has a point on the 2GB 6950, but really it's your preference as to what GPU you get

Okay thanks, so the psu is good

I like the clean looks of the the Corsair water coolers, and im not doing crazy over clocks so i don't need crazy cooling

i was thinking about the 6950 at first but its only like a 3% difference
also currently i can get the 560 ti with the twinfrozr cooler for cheaper($240) than the cheapest 6950 i could find.

Cheaper, cooler, great overclocking and the better drivers from what i hear, all for the loss of a few fps, so i settled going with the 560 ti. also gpus get outdated so quickly so ill get a better one once i get the money

ahh the creation of another Nvidia Fanboy ...sigh

sure,no problem. but a fanless cooler has no weak points. the wc can fail 1-fan and 2-pump.

would you like a damaged cpu and mobo in the eventuality? :p
