Help me play Rift!

Hey guys, I've been awhile for awhile and my have things changed.

I need to build a decent gaming rig to play Rift lol

So...I was hoping to get your thoughts on the following setup.

I've given myself a $1,000 for a budget. Most of which will be ordered from NCIX with this week's sale going on. The video cards will be bought from vuugo.com and I hope none of this gets sold out before I get some feedback from you guys lol.

I don't plan on overclocking like crazy. Maybe just a little boost which is why I'd like to try out the H50 cooler.

I'm going to keep my Cooler Mast HAF 932, PC P&C 750W PSU, harddrives, dvd and other misc devices from my previous rig.

If you're wondering why I'm going with the Kingston SSD instead of the Vertex is because I don't feel like waiting for a MIR, it's slightly cheaper and coming from a regular harddrive, I would think it's a good upgrade. Sucks that I can't wait a little longer to see if the price will drop more with the next gen SSDs coming out. I figure this is as good a time as any to get into SSDs at a pretty decent price.

Total ($1,024.86) with shipping just breaks $1,000 mark by $24.86. I think I can live with it.

What do you guys think???

Which mobo? The msi, gigabyte or sabertooth?

I know I should because I probably will never utilize teh 2600k...I was torn on this decision all day! lol

sabertooth is nice, gd65 is a heck of a board too.

the giga is the ud3 i think, if it was the ud4 would be same league

If the MSI P67A-GD65 is cheaper I say go for that board.. I've used it now in a few builds and have no issues with the board and at all works very well.

The H50 is nice but if you could perhaps get the Eco Coolit for cheaper I would as it works just as good as the H50 but installs 100x easier and that Vengeance memory is awesome as well.

So you really think it's a waste going with the 2600k?

You're probably right...if I do go with the 2500k, I may as well save a few more bucks and go with the MSI board. Seems more user friendly in the overclocking department.

NCIX has a special on the H50 right now which is making me lean towards it over the Eco. I did read that the H50 can be a b!tch to install. It can't be worse than me TRUE black on my E7400 can it? I remember that was not a fun experience at all.

h50 is really easy to install o_o

yes,2500k all the way if you dont fold or encode for a living :)

some reviews show the 2500k besting the 2600k in some apps by a small percentage,for some reason...

Well I'm itching to pull the trigger...

I just found a $10 off coupon that I was able to apply to the two gtx460 from vuugo.
So I went ahead and pulled the trigger on that which came to a total of $267.78 after shipping and taxes.

Now, do I go with the 2500k or 2600k ?

I think I will go with the 2500k. If I do, I get free shipping on my entire order which is a plus because I save another $10 and change.

Making the the order total $594.96 and a grand total of $862.74!!! $162.12 difference from my original total.

Now I feel like I need to spend some money to hit $1,000 again lol j/k!
