Default New Gaming PC

I need a new gaming PC, as soon as possible. I previously purchased a gaming PC from NCIX about 3 years ago, and had a few issues with it, so was considering Newegg this time, but after reading here I see everyone recommending NCIX, so maybe I just had bad luck the first time with them. I really do not want to upgrade this computer for a few reasons, I would rather just get a whole new system.

I like in New Brunswick, unfortunately taxes are kind of killer, so while I would be thrilled to get it delivered for $1000, I realize that may not be possible. I have absolutely no idea what motherboards to look for, but I know that I want a 1gig video card and at least a 700watt power supply. I need at least 500gig HD, but am not picky about sound cards and can live with a cheap sound card, or maybe even onboard sound. I think I would prefer an AMD CPU, although I'm not completely against an Intel CPU. I was considering this CPU:

NCIX.com - Buy AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Quad Core Processor AM3 3.4GHZ 8MB Cache 125W 45NM Retail Box - AMD - HDZ965FBGMBOX - in Canada

If I go with this, what would be a good match for motherboard and ram? What about fan/heatsink? Or is there a better CPU that you would recommend?

I know this is a lot to ask for a first time poster, but I'm stuck here. I really am out of the loop on this sort of thing, but I need a new gaming system ASAP, and there is no way I'm going to buy some HP crap from the local Future Shop. Please help out a girl gamer get back to her games. Thanks. :)

So your budget is about $1000 with tax and shipping? What games will you be playing, and at what resolution?

My monitor resolution is 1920 x 1080. I play a lot of MMOs and games like Dragon Age, The Sims 3, and Civ 5. The recommended specs for Dragon Age 2, which is coming out in a couple of weeks is this:

PC Recommended:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 GHz Processor or equivalent
CPU: AMD Phenom II X3 Triple core 2.8 GHz or equivalent
RAM: 2GB (4 GB Vista and Windows 7)
Video: ATI 3850 512 MB or greater
Video: NVIDIA 8800GTS 512 MB or greater
DirectX 11 Video: ATI 5850 or greater
DirectX 11 Video: NVIDIA 460 or greater

Building around the CPU you preferred:

$154 AMD Phenom II X4 965
$76 ASUS M4A77TD ATX
$40 G.Skill 4GB 2X2 DDR3 RAM
$78 XFX 650W PSU
$94 Windows 7 OS
$24 CM Hyper 212+ Cooler
$80 WD 1TB Black HD
$79 Coolermaster 690 II Advanced
$16 Samsung 24X DVD Writer
-----
$641 for the above, which leaves you with ~$250 for a graphics card before $1000 including tax. I recommend buying a $253 Gigabyte 6950 2GB graphics card, in case you come across a money pot and buy 2 more monitors down the road for eyefinity. If not, the 560ti is a great card to grab as well. Here's a review summary comparing the two from this site! All together it'll be $900 + $13% tax, coming to just over $1000 give or take.

NCIX sometimes offers free shipping in their weekly deals if you spend over $100. Money saved! I don't know the details of your gaming PC experience, but the NCIX today will offer you immediate RMA support should something go wrong. Feel free to swap anything out.

Oh yea, I have a question. Can you list your current PC? Maybe you can recycle a few pieces like the DVD drive or Windows key.

Thank you for your recommendations. I took what you suggested and made a few changes (I really wanted a 750 PS), and this is what I have come up with:

$158 AMD Phenom II X4 965 - NCIX website will not let me price match this.
$76 ASUS M4A77TD ATX
$94 Windows 7 OEM
$16 Samsung 24x DVD Writer
$95 Corsair TX750W
$38 Seagate Barracuda 500GB
$57 Antec Three Hundred Mini Tower Gaming Case
$40 G.Skill 4GB 2X2 DDR3 RAM - This concerns me because the price match is so very different, it's $130 on NCIX website.
$24 Coolermaster Hyper 212
$245 MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti

Total of $1023, including tax, and apparently free shipping.

Any thoughts and/or suggestions?

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with bulldozer. Is this a person who's opinion I should wait for, or something new coming out that I may want?

edit: Oh, I looked it up, it's a new motherboard. Unfortunately, I cannot wait. I need a new computer ASAP. Waiting for one to be built and ship will be difficult enough.
