Upgrade to sandy Bridges

Hey guys,

I am looking to upgrade, but not really use what to look for. I was think about going with the i5 2500K. Completely lost what to get for motherboard and RAM. Here is what i will be using it for and such.

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
Gaming, Programming, and maybe some folding

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
500-800

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
Canada

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture.

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
everything but CPU, MB, RAM

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
Maybe

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?
ASAP

9. What resolution do you use?
1680x1020

Yeah April at the earliest but don't be surprised if it's later.

if you can still find a board, dont ue the 'bad' ports with your hdd and youll be fine.

2500k is a hell of a value for that much hp.

go with at least 4 gigs of ram, thats if youll be running 64 bit.

for hdd, depending on budget i say try an ssd, 64 giger perhaps for os alone, a nice 1-2tb from wd for data?

for case, haf 912 and up from cooler master with lots of space.

psu wise, corsair, antec, cant go wrong.

depending on gpu used, anywhere from 500 watts and up.

and so on :)
