Default Feedback on a $500 budget workstation rig

Hi guys,

I just assembled a list of parts that I plan on assembling for a workstation thats mainly gonna be used for university nothing too fancy just going to be using office for the most part maybe edit some small videos for youtube etc and occasionaly play the odd game or two on like low-medium settings. I'll be running hte computer on a monitor with natve resolution of about 1440 x 900. The system i'm going for is a budget system so I figured AMD setup would be the best bet.

Just wanted to know if I should add a video card instead because the onboard gpu is kind of meh. But heres the list let me know what I should change or add to it to better the performance.

Wait till Boxing Week sales:

BoxingWeek_2010

Your Antec 300 case is down $30

probably save another 20 by getting the Cooler Master 600w also.

50 dollars closer to a GPU.

decent selection. if not gaming much, the onboard will be fine even for bigger displays.

If you are not getting an add-on video card, you should be fine with a 400W PSU.

Seagate 7200.12 500GB hard drives can be easily had for less than $50.

Onboard video and sound has come a very very long way. The 4200 is just enough to play 1080p smoothly and it can handle lower demand titles at decent settings. You have enough muscle. A separate video card would be nice, but is unnecessary. Looking at your res, it would be a total waste unless you want to hook up to a 1080 television and play some slightly more demanding games. A $500 budget honestly won't get you a decent graphics card anyhow. (unless you totally cheap out in areas you shouldn't, or get a stupid insane deal)

Yeah, but for me onboard video is always meh. I'd invest in a separate card, unless you really don't have money. Especially if you want to be playing games sometimes, I wouldn't rely on onboard.

Otherwise looks okay.
