i have some old parts lying around...

so i will build one for my younger brother...

cm690 II ($30)
antec quattro 750w (rma)
muskhin 2gb
seagate hd (i dont remember old model number)
ocz vendetta2 ($10)

i have two mobo but not sure which i should use...

asus striker II formula or p5q deluxe

which mobo i should and sell for right price

i plan to buy cpu and video card...

i hope to find e8400 for right price... and directx 11 gpu like hd 5xxxx or gtx 4xxx... but maybe i am wrong... i only know good high end parts...

my brother is using it for simple tasks such as internet, movie, music and word... and possible game but probably not often...

btw i like cheap ;p

I would assume the Striker would sell for more, since it's got a lot more features that could be useful, plus loads of PCI-E lanes. (uber routerbox anyone?) But I'd try to sell both and just keep the one that doesn't sell and use the money towards a decent 775 chip like the e8400 and something like a used 5850. (should be a lot cheaper now, new ones from are hitting the $200 mark after MIR) But that's only assuming he'll be gaming, if he doesn't, go with a lower end dual core and maybe something like a 5770.

If the tasks you listed above is all you brother will be doing, I'm not sure why you are building him a computer. Any pre-configured computer from your local store should be sufficient.

Striker II is 780i and a lot of people especially around here stay clear of nvidia chipsets ;)
