Is this system good for htpc and light gaming?

Should be ok, but you may want to add a discrete graphics card in there like an HD5450 instead of relying on the onboard. It's fairly cheap, and should guarantee no blips in HD playback, and would give you a much better gaming experience.

Oh, and I have a Storm Scout. While it's great for portability, the fans aren't exactly what I'd call silent. If you think that might bother you for HTPC use, keep it in mind.

There is no onboard video and even if it had one, onboard is a burden for even light gaming. I would suggest a 4830 which you could get on sale for around $65 now.

It would help to know what your budget is and the kind of games you play to give a better recommendation.
