What parts should I buy for the sale this weekend?

Memoryexpress is having a sale all weekend, and my buddy does not want to buy online. So with you guys knowing more then me, lets say you had to make a build with only the sale parts. What would you make out of it, any help would be great.

4 rules:

1 - He wants a flashy but good case.
2 - He already has a new keyboard and mouse.
3 - Wants atleast 6gigs of memory.
4 - try to keep it under $1200 gaming rig

If you need just the tower, this rig would be a beast, and just add a second videocard for more performance in the near future. However it sounds like you need a monitor so here is a more budget conscious build with monitor:

Both systems will have similair performance. The difference between 4gb and 6gb is minor for a gaming computer. The only reason you go with 6gb over 4gb is dependant on the cpu platform. The first build is more future proof and you will be able to upgrade to a 6core down the line. The second system will need a new motherboard if you wish to upgrade to a substantially faster cpu. The second system is not capable of sli either but can be changed if you get the Gigabyte P55A-UD4p for about 40$ more. I did put a solid state in the quote for the first machine, and in my opinion is an absolutely must have for a modern computer, however it is 100$+ that will not net you a better gaming experience and that is why I left it out of the second build. Also I have no idea how good the new gs power supplies from corsair are. I am quoting these units on pure faith, however corsair power supplies have always been excellent so I'm assuming these follow that trend.

The 1st build is Great. If you do want to be budget conscious tought, you can get better value on AMD side. Six core are available for that price.

Thanks dude. The only thing is maybe he wants to get a beefier power supply for future videocards. I hope he enjoys his new computer :D

I hope he likes it too, still trying to talk him out of buying a pc from bestbuy or staples. Hopefully he realizes that you get better parts all around from building yourself.
