8. Need advice on moniter ?

I want to be able to play the newest games like star craft 2, black ops, fallout etc. I plan on using windows seven professional qem. I plan on ordering from direct Canada and my budget for everything is around $1300.

Thanks for taking the time to help, I appreciate all the advice i can get. This is my first post here, i hope everything looks ok.

Might want to fix your links.

Do you have a budget in mind?

maybe a 965, save urself a couple bucks and just overclock it lol, case , possibly a haf922, and id downgrade psu to a 600w or so lol, and maybe a 22incher samsung or 24... 6850 or 6870 gpu wise

his budget is 1300 ilya

_dangtx_ November 15, 2010 08:15 PM

howdy and welcome,...

lets see

start off with a 6850 or 6870, then trickle down to a either i3 530 and p55/h55 mobo or 870a board and perhaps less fast but still clockable 100 dollar phenom eII?

for one gpu an antec earthwatts 500 will be more than enough, heck itll run two with no sweat

get a caviar black or f3 sammy for os drive

ps04b for case. or cm 430 912

hell, looking again at your pudget, go the p55 route with 2 6850's or 6870's in crossfire

edit samsung 23/24 inch 1080p will suit you nicely

I was thinking of getting HD5770 down the line. I read somewhere that having 2x 5770's is better than on 5870. any thoughts ?
As for overclocking, i have never done it before but i plan too this time :).
Any ideas about DDR3 RAM, anyone deal with direct Canada before ?
will check on SSD prices. and P55
switching from 750w to 650w psu.
Can anyone link to a nice case for $60-100. pls.
Didn't mean for them to be links....oooops
thanks for the advice so far, keep em coming :punk:

5770 is a lower end card, stick with any 58xx series released so far and youre golden

whatever is on sale, yes a number of times. good place, a bit slow on contact

case wise, go there and type in ps04b , cooler master 430 , 912 922

thanks for the questions maite

This comes to $682

OCZ OCZ3P1600C9ELV4GK Platinum 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1600 PC3-12800 CL 9-9-9-24 1.35V Dual Channel Memory
OCZ FATAL1TY Series 750W ATX 24PIN SLI Ready Modular Cables 135mm Red Fan 80+ Bronze Power Supply
Samsung SH-S223C 22X DVD Writer SATA Black OEM
Powercolor Radeon HD 6870 900MHZ 1GB 4.2GHZ GDDR5 2XDVI 2XMINI DisplayPort HDMI PCI-E Video Card
Western Digital WD1001FALS Caviar Black 1TB SATA2 7200RPM 4.2MS 32MB 3.5IN Dual Proc Hard Drive OEM
Acer H233H 23IN LCD Widescreen Monitor Black 1920X1080 40000:1 5ms VGA DVI HDMI

then ncix also had this but it is sold out now

ASUS P7P55D-E LX P55 Motherboard & Intel Core I5-760 Quad Core Processor

for $300

which is $982 + tax

= $1110

you need a very good video card and it should be a priority for a gaming system. 6870 absolutely destroys a 5770!!!
and get a WD black because its much faster than a blue.
the i5 750 series has always received very good reviews for gaming, and i've noticed a lot of MB/CPU combos with this CPU. check it out:

if you would use this as a model for your build you would have some cash left over for a nice case of your liking and i would also look at getting a better PSU(more watts doesn't mean better). its the life line of your system don't skimp out.. lol
watch ncix for its MB/CPU combos and get some good sales on some other parts like i have here and you'll do great for $1300

_dangtx_ November 16, 2010 11:59 AM

correction...68xx series....bleh

NorthernLights November 16, 2010 06:36 PM

Well you can say any video card below a gtx 580 is bleh!! lol. but on a budget the 6870 and 460 1gb are pretty even in price 240-250, but the 6870 always out does the 460 and 5850 and since there has been no mention of folding why not grab a 6870.

bf1 November 16, 2010 06:55 PM

can even get a 6850 and overclock the hell out of it lol
