"Upgrade" current system.

Hey guys,

You think this would be a good upgrade from my current Cpu,Ram and mobo?...in my system specs.

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2.8GHz 9MB Cache Socket AM3 Retail Box Processor
MSI 870-C45 AMD 870 Socket AM3 GB LAN 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard

I think the new upgrade will blow your current build out of the water.

I would strongly conciderthis mobo since it will allow you to OC without blowing the VRM.

Really?....what sort of overclock do you think i could get out of that X6?

and whats the diffrence between the 1055T X6 and the 1075T X6?..is it just the 1075T is clocked 200mhz faster than the 1055T?

Thanks for the list,il look into them,the reason i choose that MSI board is because ive never had problems with MSI boards,It looks nice and is very cheap compared to the others ive been looking at.

Generally yes, but there's also the question of how much effort AMD is putting into the binning of their chips. The release of the 1055t /1090t procs is an example of this... when they were first released, there did appear to be about 200 mhz gap in overhead. Most OC reports on the 1055t had them averaging out around 3.8, while the 1090t chips seemed to be averaging out around 4G.

Are they still binning that well? Only time will tell.

well, what are you going to do with it?

if gaming, keep your system. rendering or something like that? go for the hexa. and you can keep the 870, very nice board. for heavy oc's direct a 120mm to blow on the cpu are(well left side more)


edit : the 870a from giga is the best of the bunch, go for that
