Default 3 LCD Build

Hi,

Last time I built a Rig was about 8 months ago. Since then, I sold everything and went back to my Laptop. I now got the itch to build again. All the rigs I have built were watercooled and Intel based (P45,X38, P55, X58). I donít have much knowledge with AMD, but would definitively welcome an AMD build it if it suits my needs.

What I would like to do is build a 3 LCD gaming machine. I already have a BENQE2410HD 24IN, so I would be looking at buying two more of the updated model BENQ E2420HD. I will be watecooling the CPU, because I like it! I already have a switfech block and Rad and tubing. I only need a pump.

Other than this, I donít need a PSU (Silverstone 850W) and I have a HDD. (Western digital 640G Black) Also, I just impulsively bought a 800D and would like to make the water-cooling internal. What rad to people use in this case?

I am looking for a MOBO, CPU, RAM and GPU(S)

Iíd like to fold when I donít use the Rig. I have nothing against ATI GPU, but it seems NVIDIA is still the way to go for F@H. Although, if ATI is really less expensive, Iíll go the ATI way. If NVIDIA is selected, I would need to SLI for my 3 LCD. The game I play mostly is L4D2 with some BF2. I will be trying some racing game later down the road.

I donít want to overdo it GPU wise. I was even thinking of doing a used GTX260 SliÖ. But not sure it would be enough. Also, I donít mind used computer parts, so if there is a deal somewhere or if you want to sell your rig, let me know!

Well your best bet IMO would be to get I7 950 + Gigabytes X58A-UD5 + 6GB G.skill ram (1600 to 1866 MHZ is plenty enough ) then add in that a 5850-5870-GTX 460's or 470 480. If you were thinking of using 260's then I would look for 5850's or 460's.

There's some used 5870s going for less than 350 now on the forums, next month might see further drops. I would go ATI and grab a 5850/5870 for EF and pick up a second card when the 6000s come out. Lots of cheap X58 stuff going around too, good time to buy. I'd check out the BST section right now, should be able to find what you need.
