Default New build would like your thoughts

I just recently , as in a week ago , ordered some parts , and most of the research i did using the reviews i found here . but some reviews i found elsewhere but either way i would like your thoughts , i will depict my current setup , which is officially sold , and what my new setup will be.

Current setup.

Case: Coolermaster Centurion 5 (blue)
Mainboard: Asus Formula Rampage
Power supply : OCZ GameXstream 700 watt
CPU : Intel QX9650 Extreme edition quad core
Memory : 4gbs (2X2gb_ OCZ Platnium , 2gbs(2x1gb) Gskill)
CPU Cooler: Thermalright Ultra 120 /w Scythe 120mm 2000RPM fan
Video Card: Radeon HD 5850 1gb DDR5.
HD: 2X 74gb raptor drive in raid 0

Now for the new build that i am replacing the above with

Case : Coolermaster HAF932
CPU: AMD Phenom 2 X6 1090T Black edition Thuban 6 core processor
Cooler: Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H70
Vid card: Sapphire Radeon Vapor-X HD5850
Radeon HD 5850 (crossfire)
Mainboard: ASUS Crosshair IV Formula AMD 890FX
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws PC3-12800 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1600 (X2)
Power supply: XFX 850W Black Edition Single Rail Semi Modular ATX 12V 70A 24PIN ATX Power Supply 80PLUS Silver

Those are the confirmed parts , the following are the parts i will get afterwards to compliment the above parts.

SSD: Crucial RealSSD C300 64GB 2.5IN Solid State Disk Flash Drive SATA3 6Gbps (x2 in raid)
HD: Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB SATA3 6GB/S 7200RPM 64MB Cache 3.5IN Dual Proc Hard Drive

So there you have it , let me know what you think, and tell me whether you think i should have gone a different route.

Perhaps hold off on the two Radeon HD 5850s and wait for the 6xxx cards to drop?

the radeonHD 5850 is what i am carrting over from my current system , so i am adding it in for Crossfire , i realize the 6xxx series are probably not far away , but two 5850s should last a while , thanks for the thought

922 for case, 1055 for cpu

cm 212+ for cooler or if you want to spend the dough v6gt

m12d for psu.

if you get an ssd, get a 2tb drive for storage. stay with wd.

edit : you sure dont want to take a look at giga's offerings in the fx mobos? better priced than that asus :)

isn't the xfx black edition 850w use a m12d inside anyway? atleast thats what i read when i was researching.

i know giga is cheaper in price than asus , however , my relationship with giga started very sour , so even though i am sure they are a good product , i will stick to asus .

i will definitly consider the 2tb WD , as long as i can get it in SATA 3 .

BTW, the crosshair is $200 at newegg.ca. You can PM it at NCIX.

SATA rev. 3 is pointless for the WD drive. Its transfer speed doesn't even reach the SATA rev. 2 threshold.

Smile New Builds

It looks like the 5850 is on sale at NCIX for $220, XFX. Consider using that same amt in xfire to simply get a better single card. There have been issues with it at times.

There would easily be enough for a 5870. If you can hold off for the new 6000 series, I believe they're claiming a 20% increase over the 5000. Rumoured to be out in Nov., with Nvidia possibly in Dec. We shall see.
