Default Upgrading...

Hello HWC,

So i am almost ready to do my update, here are the parts I have so far.

I am not sure what I need for a PSU to run these and I still can't decided on a case, but I am pretty sure on the rest.

Let me know what you think and any suggestions are great

Cheers!

I would recommend geting a Corsair HX650 or if you want a Gold certified unit, then get the SeaSonic X650. Both are modular units for easy cable management, better airflow etc.

As for the case, Corsair's 600T & Cooler Master's CM690II Advanced are my 2 suggestions.

Good luck with your build and enjoy the new machine

My System Specs

I like EVGA for the ease of their RMA's. As for your PSU, it depends on how you might plan for your next upgrade. If you're going to keep the PSU and possibly upgrade your GPU's in a year or so, then I'd probably get an 850w or 1000w unit because you don't know what the next-gen power requirements might be. If you think you might keep the system as is for a couple of years, I'd get a 650w or 750w. As suggested, Corsair and Seasonic are both good brands.

EDIT: If you're running SLI, make sure you are getting a case with good air flow. Both of the ones suggested above would do fine, if you like the looks.

I was just looking on Newegg and i seen the same video card as the one i have in my cart, but it is superclocked. I plan to overclock so it is worth it to get the superclocked version for an extra 40 bucks?

Check the spacing for the cards on that motherboard. I was previously using an EVGA P55 Micro, the normally quiet GTX460's were screaming loud due to lack of spacing between the two cards.

If spacing is an issue, I would suggest getting the Rampage III Formula instead as the 2 x16 slots are separated by a x8 & x1 slot.
