I 2nd the recommendations of xlilmissmjx. The only difference might be the case, which is subjective anyway. Perhaps the CM 912.

This list was created at NCIX and is quite different from the suggestions already made. I thought it a good idea to mix it up a little. Sorry OP I was unclear if you needed a monitor/mouse/keyboard/speakers so I only configured the tower with the $1000 budget.

Be sure to Price Match as much as you can. Keep in mind there may be some MIR that you can claim which will lower the price of this build further. Also for the time being the case comes with free ground shipping for the whole order which to me would be worth a lot.

Everything looks good, except I would prefer him choosing a seasonic or corsair PSU, and a WD drive, as I have worked with them many times and have always have had good experiences with them. Also I think he would prefer a slightly more flashy case like a cm 690 2 or an antec 902 or something of that sort. BTW we will be using NCIX PP pricing so the total should be a bit lower than shown in your screenshot. Also I have never had experience with BenQ display units. Are they good?
