Hmmm... No. It looks like the OP is trying to build a moderately-powerful system, and you're suggesting low-end budget hardware? If anything, I would recommend upgrading to a better video card like a GTX 460 or 5850 and a better CPU like a 1055T or 1090T.

I personally find it pointless to get a top of the line mobo if you are a mild overclocker or don't need tri sli/xfire.

I would get the 870G mobo that was reviewed here and a Phenom 945.

Drop the Zalman cooler. Get a CM 212+ for ~$30.

Drop the 5770 and get a 460 1GB version from EVGA.

( Can I swap out fans on a psu ??? )
Yes it is possible but you might electrocute yourself :(

Smile New Builds

All great suggestions! I'm leaning on the EVGA as well, the 1 gb version for the lifetime warranty. I still like the 1055T as it's close to the same price as a 965.
Case choice is subjective, but I agree that the Cooler Master series are pretty good, though Lian Li are a good quality unit.
I agree with the others that you should have a bigger HDD like a 1 tb minimum. Samsung is the fastest, and WD is very good as well.
For a noob, you've picked some good components. B4 pulling the trigger, check out the reivews of components. This could sway you with your final decision also.Cpu cooling should be looked at as well.
Good luck with the build and enjoy the new system!

I would change the cpu cooler to the CM Hyper 212 Plus & the HD5770 to a GTX460 (either of the 2 are good) like others have suggested. If you wish to stay with ATI then I would suggest the 5830 or 5850 as those are competitive with the 2 GTX460's.

I would take up the samsung suggestions as well, due to my preference for their awesome monitors

Also the 1055T would be a sweet cpu to get, 6 cores is hard to argue with especially when you can only get a quad core from Intel for the same price and similar performance!

As for the keyboard & mouse, I prefer logitech, my current fav is the MX5500.

Everything else is all good, good luck with your build mate
