900-1100 budget for a gaming PC

Stay with the quad if you don't wish to upgrade as it will give you best coverage for the next few years over a dual. Otherwise, get a dual and upgrade to hexa later on.

Also stay with the 460 and overclock it, that will beat any overclocked 5770!

Sorry, the 5770 doesn't come close to a 460. Overclock varies from card to card, manufacturer to manufacturer.. For an added $20 the 460 is definately worth it - and clocks to similar performance of a stock 5850.

And as for the other post - NCIX has a 600W ModXtream for $35 or something silly. Too bad you don't like OCZ (with no good reason) they make good PSUs.

from what ive seen all 768 meg cards oc close very well, 1 gig models well. unless later units will follow in the path of later 5 series radeons?

h70 : $/cooling performance not too good
get the modular on special @ 99$ at ncix if you need that much power. actually do get it youll use it on your next build in a couple years

Around 1k now I figured why not go a bit bigger? It will last longer and work better, It will just take a bit longer to save for.
