Default Low Budget Gaming Build For a Friend

Sup HWC.

I am building a little gaming PC for a friend who is new to the PC customization world,
and he has a low budget of 800 bucks MAX including tax.

Do you guys have any opinions on parts?

He doesn't plan on maxing everything, I'm thinking maybe a 5770 or something.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT:

This is what I have in mind so far.

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=26415&...acture=Corsair
http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...l&promoid=1008
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=33883&...20Digital%20WD
http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...acture=Samsung
http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...l&promoid=1008
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=41337&...e=COOLERMASTER
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=33852&...re=Yate%20Loon
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=46237&...cture=Gigabyte
http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...X&promoid=1008

With a bit of price adjusting and NCIX PP pricing, I can probably bring it down to around 800.

Any suggestions?

Ok this is the current build we are planning for *taken down due to TOS*

It comes to a total of 787 or so.

Any suggestions?

with your second posting, everything looks great, just change the psu to a Corsair, Seasonic, Antec or Silverstone unit as BFG is going out of business and therefore won't offer any rma etc.

Yeah I heard about the whole bfg thing. Unfortunately its what comes on special for the 460, and plus NCIX is offering a one year warranty with it.

450W PSU
DDR3-1,333MHZ
Gigabyte UD2

If you won't overclock, won't add SLI later, then downgrading to these parts won't affect performance.

I would get a 1TB HD just to be safe.

The Bfg psu is on special though for 55 bucks.
I will look into the mobo and the RAM.
As for the HDD, he won't need anything more 320gb or so.

For some reason that Gigabyte is like the cheapest that doesn't have rebates, let alone a mobo with SLI.

Thanks for the detailed post, however I think we will stick with ATX motherboards for this build. I haven't had too good experiences with mATX
