If it were me I would go for the best ONE card I can afford at this time, and if I really need more performance in the future, SLI or Crossfire it. So if you don't care about PhysX, go for the 5970.

PS: the 5970 is also more high res friendly.
Just checking, but you know that 5970 is the fastest because it uses Crossfire right? 1 card or not, its still 2 gpus and as such suffers from the problems inherent in a multi-gpu set-up. That said, nVidia's SLI on the GTX400 series suffers from much less flaws than ATI's crossfire, and because of that I would go for GTX 460 SLI or even GTX 470 SLI if there's little price difference between that and a 5970.

Are you sure about that...

Last time I checked Dual GPU cards, weren't recognized as SLi or Crossfire.

Hmm, interesting on Crossfire enabled on a 5970. CPU wise, if it hasn't been purchased yet, could wait on the price drop of the i7-950 (end of August) which should fall to the $300 price range of the i7-930.

Wow thanks for that info shayan ! I was really already more inclined towards dual 460 as I think they can offer better perfs as well as being cheaper.

LanevoIII : Nothing as been bought yet so thanks for that, I'll wait for this as well a Ncix sales.

Kanadien : Well idk maybe because in french we consider budget to be an amount of money that you want to spend on something so idk, If you have a better english word for me go ahead

Same in English, its just that sometimes when you say that you are on a budget, it could be interpreted as you only being able to spend a considerably low amount.
eg. "Why don't you get some GTX 480's for Quad SLI?" "Oh... Because I am on a budget."

Smile New Builds

Love that case! Only problem is the gpu fan shroud doesn't fit with a 5970. With a good cfm fan the 480 runs cooler than the 5970 because of this. Check out the P6X58D-E mobo. Better chipset for gaming if I remember correctly and cheaper too.
Those new sata3 hdds are much faster than the previous gen. Downloading onto it takes a fraction of time compared.
Looks like a good system. Enjoy the build and resulting system!

Edit: OCZ or Corsair are 2 really good SSD manufacturers. Vertex 2 or if it's simply for the OS, the Intel 80gb is pretty awesome. Perhaps AkG could help you with your choice.

Fishingfanatic : Wow thanks you made me save 50$ I jsut changed the mobo in my original post. Also switched to a 1tb (WOW) HDD Sata 3 and quickly looked at the SSD and yeah the intel seems like a nice choice so I added it for the moment

Shayan : Lol I guess were not so different after all cause the same thing applies in French. Voila !
