I got my CPU up to 3.7Ghz last time I tried OCing.... Should be able to push it higher? I don't like pumping too much voltage into a chip. I have the Noctua NH-U12F HSF

No GPU upgrade for now, as I bought a GTX460 last week.

My System Specs

Smile New Builds

I agree with the others regarding performance increase. It made a sizable difference in my case. That said, I wouldn't buy a new one for 250. Keep an eye on the BST for one or ebay like another member suggested. One thing about opting for a better gpu now is the fact that it'll improve your gaming and be one less thing to purchase for the new system in a yrs time. That should be gotten off of BST for a good price saving you more.
