Opinion on ~$650 CAD Build

I would like an opinion on my planned build:

1.It will be used for gaming and application multitasking

2. My budget is $650 CAD

3. The Parts will be bought from Canada (Specifically Canadacomputers.com)

4.I prefer ATI and AMD for their cost/performance ratios .

5. I will be using my current: Case, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers, Video card

6. I will buy these parts a couple months after this build is completed: New video card and CPU Cooler

6. I may overclock

7. I am planning to build in 4-6 Months

8. My monitor is 1440 X 900

My planned build is:

Asus M4A87TD EVO Socket AM3109.99
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 179.99
Patriot Extreme Performance 4GB 99.99
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB 45.99
OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W PSU 89.99

A total of $635.94 CAD

sounds good but i would change the 955 for a oem 940black( newegg.ca ) no big deal but saves some coin and you said that your going to overclock.

I chose an AM3 Socket board. the 940 is an AM2+ CPU it will not fit in that board.

Before anybody else chimes in, I'd recommend grabbing something like the corsair TX750 when it's on sale for $99 (does Canada Computers price match?). You won't find too many recommendations on OCZ PSUs these days.

Corsair GS600W $90 after $10MIR

You could go for a 945 instead so you could get a Cooler Master Hyper 212+ cpu cooler at the same time.

945/940 was what i aiming for could not think which one go's where. but my point was if your overclocking just grab the "lower end" chip and up you go unless your just going for the highest possible clocks??.

wrong choice if for gaming your video card wont be keeping up :) altough you use a pretty low rez. stick a 460 in there, dig the 870a giga board.

altough if i were you? id use a 785 giga board because you got ddr2.

Get this PSU: Canada Computers - Antec EA-650 EarthWatts 650W Continuous Power Supply

It comes out to less than the OCZ after the rebate is taken into account, and unlike that unit, this one can actually supply 650W in real-world conditions.

4-6 months in computer time is like 50 years in human life. Prices and technology change nearly daily...

But i would get the 945. I have mine OC'd to 3.3Ghz on stock voltage :)

I will be getting the 212 + for my birthday so i will not have to purchase it

I wanted the 955 because it was a quad core and unlocked multiplier. and yes I kinda wanted to get really high clock speeds.

I will be getting a different card after the build is completed and I have saved some more money
I chose that motherboard because it has SATA 6.0 Gb/s and USB3
also both the motherboard and ram are DDR3
