Mind doing a little formatting with the edit button to make it cleaner and easier to read rather then a brain and eye strain?

You know you can go with the 460 1gb which seems better performance per dollar then the 465 1gb. Also the 12gb or even 8gb is rather excessive as you said this is a gaming machine and well games right now don't even push people with 4gb to the max. I've used 4GB of ram for an cpu folding and still had enough ram left over (i have 6gb total) to play video games without running out of ram.

The core i7 system. Definitely! Not keen on the Hitachi drive. Consider WD or even Samsung. Should be a good system. Good luck with the build and enjoy the system.

If you are gonna go with the i7 system, why not just go with the i7 930 and overclock it. Or even at stock the 930 is a very good CPU

Core 2 Quad systems are simply not worth the 1.4k. A Core i7 system could run circles around it.

**EDIT** They sound like prebuilt systems to me...

Get a Gigabyte X58 mobo like the UD3R.

Get the vanilla 930 and OC it. The 960 is such a rip off.

The Ram you chose sucks. Get a decent DDR3-1600 from G Skill or Corsair. They will limit your overclocking.

Not sure about the HD but i would get WD Black 1TB or the Sammy F3 1TB (usually recommended by Zero)

Drop the Creative soundcard. They have poor drivers. If you really want one, get one from ASUS Xonar
series.

Change the case to a HAF or 690 II. Apevia cases aren't really well built...

I would get a PSU from Corsair or Seasonic, more reliable..
