Exclamation need sugesstions on Mobos.

Hai hardwarecanuckers...

I need a really big favour.... I am planning to build a SLI system with GTX 460 1GBs along with the power of AMD's Phenom II X4 955. One problem the Asus motherboard with the n980a Nforce chipset, has had unconvincing reviews. Money is not the barrier here. Just need something as awesome as Asus Crosshair IV Formula or close to that.

would really appreciate it if you would leave a link to a pic of the motherboard suggested.

Thank You So much.

If your not sold on the Asus ROG Crosshair IV Formula board then I would suggest either one of the current two Gigabyte boards...

Newegg.ca - GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 AM3 AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Newegg.ca - GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD7 AM3 AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 XL ATX AMD Motherboard

They offer more pci-e slots, 2 more sata ports, 2nd firewire port, 2nd LAN port, 2nd e-sata port and coaxial audio port.

If your not going with a black & red colour theme, then these boards will suit your needs

I can recommend looking at MSI's N980A board since your not into asus's board...

NCIX.com - Buy MSI NF980-G65 ATX AM3 nForce 980A SLI DDR3 3XPCI-E16 2XPCI-E 2XPCI SATA RAID GBLAN Audio Motherboard - NF980-G65 In Canada.

I know it doesn't offer SATA3 or USB3 but what else can you do about it when nvidia hasn't yet come out with AMD boards with those features.

its really a shame its not open. hell, you got two pci-e slots? your choice of videocards. but no, they gotta be mammal about it :)

again, the 980a is not a bad chipset, but a bit pricey.

hello again fellow hardwarecanuckers,

came across something interesting during my research...

Project xDevs: Контент / Публикации и статьи / Activating NVIDIA SLI on all motherboards, updated detailed HOW-TO

very interesting ... can anyone here, who have tried this method, verify its authenticity? really interesting stuff

if it should work then I can go ahead with the Asus Crosshair IV formula mobo and dual GTX 460s...
