The latency won't make any noticeable difference. The 2N was probably supposed to be 2T.

btw where are you shoping for your parts? If your using Mwave you may want to look at this site: www.pccasegear.com it has what I found to be the cheapest stuff and a nice range of water cooling stuff (about the only Australian store that does :( )

I decided to go with the Lang Li case. Looks very sleek and red.
Changed the Power SUpply to something nice and modular.

The only thing i am not a 100% sure yet is the Memory and the Monitor.
Read a review of the OCZ memory and they were able to overclock it to nearly 1800. Of course its 50A$ more than the GSKill. For that money i could actually get a 16000 Memory from gskill like the F3-16000CL9T-6GBTD or F3-16000CL9T-6GBRH which supposingly should leave me enough room for overclocking and upgrades.

The other thing is the Monitor LED lg or stay with quality thats known the Samsung ?

Ah and i also changed my drive to teh Spinpoint form WD.

I haven't assembled a system in years, should i let the shop do it or do it myself ?

any chance you may reconsider a gtx 460 setup? if the system is not for gaming necessarily, drop only one in now :)

I was thinking i might as well go for the 5870 as the whole setup is exactly in my budgeta nd i might drop a second one in if they drop in a year or so.

The nvidas scare me off from their power consumption and i recon my 750 PSU would just be enough if i would go double.

For the case, i must admit i am still not a 100% set on either. I think they are both great cases.

Re-read the power consumption on the 460, it's very efficient.. it's a different core than the 470/480.

+1 on the 460. If you're not going to be gaming hardcore it's a better bang for your buck. Power consumption and temps are actually quite good, as well.

+1 for the 460. If you're uncertain about your memory and are willing to spend the extra money over the G Skills, then take a look at the Mushkins. These guys are well respected by enthusiasts and overclock easily. They're also quite durable with lifetime warranty. I also agree that you should take a good look at the CoolerMaster case.

I wouldn't be too concerned about assembling it yourself. It's probably just as easy if not more so to assemble a system now as then. You'll likely enjoy it more that way too.

The 460 is a good card, but since you're getting a 1080p monitor, I say stick with the 5870. It's a substantially more powerful card and you'll notice the difference at that resolution.
