Default Which GPU

My old 8800gt 512mb edition is getting a bit old. I am looking for a GPU for around £150; size or power req don't matter.

I use my pc mainly for gaming.I wanna know what GPU to choose & why it is better then its competition. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Oh and i would prefer if it was nVidia ;)

The exchange rate from Pounds to CAD is ~ 1.55, so £150 is approximately $240CAD.

At this price range, you are basically stuck with the 5770. but i believe that electronics in Europe are more expensive than N.A.

I wouldn't upgrade just yet because there isn't really anything spectacular in the market right now. I upgraded from a 9600GT to a 4850. It was an OK upgrade but fps did not improve as much as i expected. I would either aim for 5850 or play the waiting game and wait for the next batch of cards to come out.

I did some quick looks over in Canada so prices won't be in line but look at the GTX 260. It might fall in your price range and is still considered a good card by today's standards, or so I'm told. If you want a DX11 card you may have to go to ATI, with the 5830 being a bit more expensive, but probably a much better card based on that alone. Good luck!

Yeah, just wait for the next bunch of cards to come out. No high anticipation games being released anytime soon. But if you're really have the urge to buy something the 5830 will push the limit. Or, listen to the guy above me.

Don't waste your time - there is nothing worth upgrading to for that much. Save up more money.

If you have to, get a used GTX 260.
