youre still paying too much for a cpu. wheres the 212+ at? :)

5850. better thermals/noise.

board is ok. psu is ok.

I will be switching the Stock Heatsink a bit further down the line (2-3 Months) and as for the Nvidia 5850, it runs cooler and about 6FPS less than the GTX470 but the main reason is that I will be running on Ubuntu Lucid Lynx in which Nvidia graphic cards have way better support. Also I wonder why are you saying I'm overdoing it with the CPU. Do you mind opening me on that?

jcmaz June 16, 2010 05:33 PM

Err.. correction: It is ATI 5850..

buy from ncix??
They should have Seagate 500GB hard drives for $50
Newegg.ca - GIGABYTE GA-870A-UD3 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard because i don't like MSI products all that much
AMD 1055T Hexcore

EDIT: Zero, you are paying too much $$$ for the CPU when the Phenom X6 1055T is approximately $200

ZereoX June 16, 2010 05:45 PM

Opps for that big Typo on my side (ATI Radeon HD 5850). The 1055T offers lower gaming performance but will the 6 cores really come in handy in the next few years? I don't expect to buy a new computer before 4-5 Years after this one.

I will also be checking out NCIX to compare price with Newegg to see who chages less for S/H + Taxes.

_dangtx_ June 16, 2010 05:51 PM

cool. if you do need the extra cores go for it. always tell peepes who dont have unlimited/big budget to go for duallie unless they do need the 4 or more cores right now. look up used/new in box x6's, ive seen around 175 lol.

ZereoX June 16, 2010 06:03 PM

Thanks guys. I will most likely go for a 1055T and will definitely shop at NCIX.com. They Have almost the same things some are a bit pricier but the additional Fees are half of what Newegg.ca is. One Question, is there any additional fees that might apply when I receive the package? Because I know Newegg.ca has a Deal with it's shipping companies and everything is paid on checkout including Border Fees and what not that is why I think it's double at Newegg.

I will post Final build soon.

_dangtx_ June 16, 2010 06:31 PM

buy from canada = no border fees. buy from newegg.ca , some stuff might come from down south, you should see no charge.

Before you hit that Purchase Button change that PSU back to the Antec one. At least You get a decent supply then. I've been made aware that the BFG ones are no longer the decent supplies they used to be.
