Get a used case and a decent 400W PSU from either Corsair or Seasonic. NCIX has a sale on the Corsair 400W for $30 +MIR..

$300?

So obviously things such as cpu, memory, monitor, optical drive, video card, operating system, mouse, keyboard, etc. are already taken care of?

I could build you a semi-decent system for around six bills. But three???

Maybe $350 (I know...)

Not looking to get a video card as the mobo I'm looking for must have onboard graphics.

Got an optical drive, mouse, and keyboard already (so not included in cost).

Monitor also not included in price.

It's gonna be tough... sorry!

At that price something is going to have to be used. Otherwise, within 300 including a monitor, will be like..
$35 -Sempron 140
$50 -basic mobo
$50 -2gb ddr2
$20 -cheap local case
$25 -dangerous PSU
=120 for a monitor.

If you can handle a CRT a lot of people are just giving those away, which would then cover the cost of the operating system.
You might be able to get a Pentium Dual core and 775 G31 mobo for under 80 or so...
Best of luck though.

Hey I recently bought a PC around that price range. I bough this from Canada computers. Runs EXCELLENT FOR THE PRICE!

Canada Computers - Visionary I6075 - Intel Core 2 Duo E7500, Intel X4500 Graphics (Windows 7 Support), 2GB DDR2 800, GigaLAN, 500GB HDD, 18X DVD-Writer

All parts are good, no video card but has a WD blue, Asrock G41 Mobo, E7500 R0, Kingston ram etc. I put in a HD 4670 and i can play anything other than crysis on max, good stuff. Onboard graphics are good for HD movies as well, played smooth before i bought my video card. BTW PSU is i think 380w
