Default What video card to get? Nothing major. <65-70$

Hey so i recently bough a new pc (other topic) and i think i got a pretty good deal. Since it was pre-built i was not expecting it to have any know name parts but it seems to be pretty decent. ( Only cost 320$ so..)

Basic Specs.
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate.
CPU:E7500 2.93 Ghz R0
MOBO: asrock G41M-LE (ASRock > Products > G41M-LE)
GPU: int. x4500
HDD: 500GB Caviar Blue
RAM: Crucial 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model CT25664AA800
PSU: 380w

Now i wanted to buy a GPU that will do some gaming, not expecting or planning to run crysis on ultra high but like just want to run some games at medium settings.

I was thinking either the hd 4650 or 4670. The 4650 Seems to be rather cheap as i can get it for 58$ off newegg.ca or 34$ or so off canadacomputers.com. I know its an older card but it dosent use much power and can still run most games at medium settings.

what do you guys suggest, kinda on a budget so not wanting anything to crazy.

Get a used 8000GT/9800GT if you can, if not a HD 4670.

I can tell you that I have a 4650 and while it can run l4d2 at 25fps, it is laggy like hell. Move the mouse, the character responds literally 1 second later. ATI cards boost statistics such as fps, but l4d2 is actually unplayable with a ati card at 25fps. With ati, blow up a barrel and fps drops like crazy. Blow up a barrel with a nvidia card and fps drops a bit, no noticeable change. I would highly suggest anything other than ati for gaming... get a used 8800gt or 9800gt for $50-$70, it will be able to play crysis.

Not true at all in my experience. I had the 4670 and ran COD WAW at max settings and L4D without any problems. Nvidia isn't some magic company that gets better fps in every game.

That said, I would recommend a used 8800/9800 GT, or a 4770

your using a htpc and comparing it to a gaming card this makes no sense. I have used both teams and love both for there different reasons. but your claims in my experience are totally bogus. jmo
