Need memory/sink to go with new build

Hello ! I need help for choosing some memory and a heatsink to go along with a build I'm modifying.

1. Gaming/Folding PC
2. Budget for ram : under 150$ / Sink : Under 50$
3. Canada
4. No brand preference, although I don't like OCZ
5. Parts :

Parts kept :

Corsair 650w
Hitachi 1tb
Intel X25-V 40gb
Evga GTX260/216 Superclocked

Parts being replaced :

ASUS P5Q Pro
E5200 Wolfdale
Xiggy S1283 (either replace or find brackets for AM3, I lost mine) :/

New parts :

ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3
AMD Phenom II X2 555

7. I'll be overclocking it, and possibly unlock 1/2 cores if I'm lucky.

9. 1920x1200

PS : Trying to get ready for Chimp Challenge, parts are coming in tomorrow or on the 5th at worst.

Couple of Different options for Memory, but a good set on the cheap to get would be G.SKill Ripjaws. I find they really work well coupled with a AMD Processor.
And that will leave you with enough coin left to get a CM 212+ heatsink (Which will be more than adequate for whatever your X2 will throw at it).

I read (on newegg...) that the Ripjaws weren't really suitable for some AM3 boards. I'm unsure about that one, but I might go for it anyway. The 212+ looks just like my Xig.. sounds good :D

Newegg would be about the last place I'd go looking for review/advice. Myself personally I have used 3 sets of Ripjaws on AM3 boards without issue, as well as G.Skills Trident Series for Client builds without issue.

The 212+ is really an amazing Bang for your Buck cooler.

I would go for G-Skill Eco series for ram. its around 139.99 and at 1600mhz they run with low voltage giving them a good latency.

Heatsink wise if you want you can get the corsair liquid cooler for 62.

I'm not sure where you are getting your 555 dual core, but I would sell your old parts just to get a 1055T. I mean it is only $100 more than the 555, but 3 times as much cores. Plus, if your 555 doesn't unlock, then you are screwed and stuck with a dual core.

This is coming from a guy that decided to have ~$15 and got the Asus M2A-VM instead of the newer 780G motherboards.

It all comes down to cost. The same could be said of anything. Why get the Ripjaws when you can get the Tridents, or PI series etc etc...

My thoughts at least.
