Budget Build - College Student!!!
Hey guys, just want to say you've got a great community here. Been a long time follower of HWC through redflagdeals, first time posting though.
So I'm building a computer for the first time, though I like to think I'm somewhat knowledgeable when it comes to putting them together and such. I've replaced my old computer's 3500+ with a 4600+ last year but that thing is getting long in the tooth (S939). I finally bit the bullet and decided to upgrade. Just looking for some advice on a case I guess, no idea when it comes to them. I go to school in upstate NY but live in Mississauga so I can buy from either. My budget is pretty much as cheap as I can get, so this is kind of a long time coming as I get parts cheap. Currently, I have purchased / reusing: AMD Phenom X4 945 MSI 790x-G45 Xfire(package with processor, cost $140 together from frys.com AR) Corsair XMS3 TW3X4G1333C9AG 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 RAM - - PC10666 - $70 after CB and rebate
WD 500GB HD
WD 1.5TB Green HD
Monitor is a Westinghouse L2410NM - 1920x1200 res
Keyboard and mouse
IDE DVD burner (considered just replacing for $20)
OCZ StealthXStream 500w
Galaxy 9800gt Low Power
So with that I believe I still need a case. I want something that is quiet and small. I've looked at the Cooler Master Elite 360, which I can get for ~$30 here. Also, is it worth it to get a new DVD burner and will my current PSU be enough for all this? Comments on the build are welcome as well, nothing has shipped yet, but will monday. Thanks!!
Edit: Will be using for gaming (Company of Heroes, some classics, maybe SC2, GTAIV), as well as everything I ask it to be a college student, Word processing, minitab, HD movies, maybe bluray/ripping in the future
