My System Specs

Default New i5 build for friend.

I thought I'll help my friend out with his build.
He is mainly an average gamer(nothing cutting edge required) and the components should last 3-4 years.
Budget is around 1130 US$.
Drew up the following:
Intel i5 750 processor
Gigabyte Ultra Durable 3 series GA-P55M-UD2 motherboard
ATI Radeon 5770 Graphics card
G.Skill Trident F3-16000CL9D-4GBTD [2x2GB]
Corsair 650TX power supply
BenQ G2220HD monitor

Just need a case, speakers, peripherals etc.
No brand preference, he doesn't care what's inside, as long as the job gets done.
No OC.

Will the above components work together well?(I think the RAM is overkill)
Any info on stability, reliabiliry?

Thanks in advance.

Are you going to be putting this in an mATX case? If not then why did you choose a mATX mobo? NCIX.com - Buy ASUS P7P55D LGA1156 P55 DDR3 2PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 3PCI 7SATA CrossFire GBLAN 8CHANNEL Audio Motherboard - P7P55D In Canada. I'd go with that for a full sized motherboard. RAM is definately overkill, maybe go for something like this NCIX.com - Buy Corsair XMS3 CMX4GX3M2A1600C7 4GB DDR3 2X2GB DDR3-1600 CL 7-8-7-20 Core i5 Dual Channel Memory Kit - CMX4GX3M2A1600C7 In Canada.

Dunno if the 5770 will last for 3-4 years but I guess he could always add another one later on... You should also be able to overclock the cpu to 3.2-3.4ghz just with the stock cooler pretty easily. I also don't see a hard drive in there.

I'd go for the CM690II Advanced instead of that Zalman...
