Default Build My NEW $2500 Rig !!!! ..plz :)

Help me build my new computer

Background:
I have old system that I built many many years ago (was a $3000+ system that is now sons). I need to be able to build this system myself there is nothing I can salvage from old system.

Budget: $2500 (not including monitors/peripherals)

Usage:

video editing, image editing/processing, programming/compiling, file storage, audio editing, gaming (hearts of iron type war sims), internet/email/general usage also, movies/media center type stuff. (so general all purpose do anything very well type rig).

Options:

AMD based system (overclockable, upgradable)
mobo (overclockable, upgradable/future support)
ssd main drive for OS (should certain other software go on SSD?)(want option to dual or tri boot with apple/linux)
HD for file storatge
multi monitor video card support (HD5870?)(3 monitors)(all monitors need to be same brand/specs?)
DDR3
medium tower (dont want this to be too noisy, as it will be in main living room)
sound card (for integration with audio receiver - Yamaha rxv)

Full system specs and prices appreciated.
Cheers

well. start with a 1055t and the 890gx(or fx?) of your choice, 8gb ddr3
gpu wise? one 5870 for now. corsair hx 850 will be enough for a few 5870's
a couple wd 2tb's green for storage.
ask akg about ssd's

+1 to the above and slap in one of the following:

Intel X25-M gen 2. Good size, good price (about 235) and great performance.

IF you got more coin left over go for a OCZ Vertex 2, or Corsair F100 or Patriot's upcoming version or GSkill's (both stated at CES that they had one in the works). SandForce controllers are bloody amazing.

IF you need to go for less cash outlay go for a Corsair Nova 128GB. They were recently on sale for 179. Decent performance, decent price.

If you need to go for even less cash outlay look at the Kingston V series gen 2. They are a JM618 controller, good intro to the world of SSDs, albeit at less horsepower then the others I've mentioned.

IF you plan on dual booting into Linux....get a cheap WD Black 640 on top of the SSD purchase and stick your distro on the WD. Trim and Linux is a dogs breakfast right now.

'if i had the coin...' would apply to the above for a slighty larger budget. a 1800+ dollar cpu will make sure the whole rig gets to 5 k or so. i remember back in the day when i would oc my socket a madly, getting within top dog or so intel wich was several times its cost. said top dog was my bud's build, oh the crocodile tears he unleashed :)
