Aggravating wait for upgrade parts

I'm not going to mention the companies name but this has to be one of the most aggravating parts delivery I've dealt with yet, (I'm the type that wants the parts delivered yesterday);)

My plan was to only upgrade to a 5870, replacing by 8800GT started placing an order, then I thought my 500w psu wouldn't be up to the task, so... added a 750w brand name psu... and that was supposed to it, ... not likely, plenty of deals on the go... I said the heck with it, ordered i5 750 to replace my C2D e6600, and also a 1156 mother board, added 4gb of 12800 ram and after market cooler. Basically the only internal parts to be reused is my case, fans, dvd-rw, and 1tb hard drive...

I ordered all that stuff from the one company... guess what happened? They never sent the stuff as one package! I have 4 different delivery dates and I'm left waiting a full week to assemble the parts!

Delivered 23/04/2010 - PSU
ETA 26/04/2010 - CPU and Cooler
ETA 27/04/2010 - Video Card
ETA 30/04/2010 - Motherboard and Ram

The only benefit I can see is I can actually test the performance upgrades against what will be my final build, one upgrade at a time

Errrr.... it seems to me that you ordered your parts at different times...

Maybe you should ask them to ship it in one big package?

It was actually newegg canada
...and I ordered everything the same time, one order, I just assumed it would come as one package, or at least all together!

That's quite stange, I've ordered at least 4 things at once from them before and it came in 1 box. Not all hot stuff like, usb crap or whatever. Ran out of right sized boxes? lol

I've found that newegg.ca can have some strange shipping, lately been a lot of multi-shipments. Depends on where stuff is in stock, comes from either Mississauga, New Jersey, or California. Makes for wild swings in shipping times. However, Tom Petty said it best eh.

yes, I also ordered online at new egg several times w/ more than 3 stuffs at the same time. It comes in one package. It seems that newegg.ca is only the problem

That is the most likely reason for the OP's multiple packages. It's most likely quicker to ship it all individually than waiting for everything to ship to one warehouse and then sending it all out at once.

All my massive order from any Computer Store (online) has received multiple shipping, upto 4-5 different package for one order.

I took out a big order with NCIX on the 14th, my order finished partially processing at different times on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd. One item is still backordered. I'm supposed to receive two boxes today and 1 box tomorrow, then another box at a future date. It probably would've been cheaper for them to just delay my order and give me like a $10 gift card for the wait.
