Cool i7 build... Seems pretty awesome!!!

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.

Games, music, HW, other basic stuff, a bit of photoshop CS5, maybe some crunching and folding... other random stuff

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread

Under 1500$ CAD

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

Mostly Canada , but US also

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture.

I am freaking neutral, hate fanboism

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.

Well, I just bought a used i7 920 C0, AsRock Extreme x58, and some sweet 3x2gb kit of RAM

Oh and I need a very portable set of headphones, so I bought Koss KSC75 and I wanted some closed cans with good sound quality, so I got the Creative Aurvana Live!, both from the US, totaling <100$ CAD

Total for all ~570$

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.

not really

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.

Overclock at 3.8ghz

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?

In about a week

9. What resolution do you use?

1920x1080 once I get my monitor

So what have a came up with? (btw, I need everything except what is listed in #5) Remember, this has to be under 930$ AFTER tax and insurance, this ends up like 870$

What do you guys all think?

Its been only two hours.... during a work week. Most peeps are at work. Have some patience, this is not IRC or IM.

IF Im reading it correctly you have the cpu, mobo and ram. You need a HDD, GPU, case, psu and cpu cooler. Do you need a monitor, kb and mouse?

On hdds look at the WD Blacks. 640 (70 bucks) or 1Tb (105) are cheap, and fast.
NCIX.com - Buy Western Digital WD1001FALS Caviar Black 1TB SATA2 7200RPM 4.2MS 32MB 3.5IN Dual Proc Hard Drive OEM - WD1001FALS In Canada.
NCIX.com - Buy Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB 7200RPM 32MB Dual Proc 3.5IN SATA Hard Drive OEM 5YR Mfg Warranty - WD6401AALS In Canada.

On Power Supply Units. I like Corsiar and Seasonic. A 600 - 700 watt one will be more than enough for your needs.
The HX650 is 130 after MIR.
The TX750 is about 135 after MIR.
NCIX.com - Buy Corsair TX750W 750W ATX 12V 60A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 140MM Fan - CMPSU-750TX In Canada.
NCIX.com - Buy Corsair Professional HX650W 650W ATX 12V 52A 24PIN ATX Modular Power Supply Active PFC 120MM Fan - CMPSU-650HX In Canada.

For a cooler. You can get a CM Hyper 212+ for a little over 29 bucks. IF you want better then it, look at the Zalman CNPS10X Flex or Prolimatech Megahalems and a pair of CM R4 fans.

NCIX.com - Buy Coolermaster R4-L2R-20AC 120MM Blue LED Case Fan 2000RPM 69CFM 19DBA 3/4 Pin - R4-L2R-20AC In Canada.
NCIX.com - Buy Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus Direct Touch 4 Heatpipe Heatsink AM2 AM3 LGA1366 LGA775 LGA1156 120MM - RR-B10-212P-GP In Canada.
NCIX.com - Buy Prolimatech Megahalems Rev B CPU Heatsink Cooler LGA1156 LGA1366 LGA775 - Megahalems Rev. B In Canada.
NCIX.com - Buy Zalman CNPS10X Flex CPU Cooler LGA1156 1366 775 AM3 754 939 940 Support Dual Fans - CNPS10X FLEX In Canada.

For a GPU, depends on what games you play. IF its mainly a work PC and your games are flash based games....darn near any GPU will do you.

For a case you can get a CM 690 II for 99.
NCIX.com - Buy Coolermaster CM 690 II Advanced ATX Mid Tower Case Black 4X5.25 1X3.5EXT 6X3.5INT *No PSU* - RC-692-KKN2 In Canada.

On the rest....I'll leave that to others.

+1 on all he said. Although not sure if OP updated his list after you posted AkG, but his list on directcanada actually has all parts.
Although I would also suggest what AkG just did, quality parts.

I'm not all that good on Keyboard/Mouse suggestions (since I've never owned a gaming keyb/mouse), but usually Logitech, Microsoft and Steelseries are what usually buy for gaming keyb and mouse.

As well as monitors, LG or Samsung usually make very good stuff.
