For $600? With or without the monitor?

IMO i would go with an AMD build w/ 785g chipset & 4gb DDR3 . CPU could be an x2 555 unlocked to X4 or stick it safe and get an X4 620/630.
For video card a good option is an HD5770 .

PSU: Grab a 600w psu, and a cheaper case like an NZXT Beta Evo or Gamma.

what is in your current build?

$600 will not go very far in building a new machine

I would go with a AM3 board some ddr 3 4gb phenom 2 x4 and a 5770.
Something like that
AMD Phenom 2 X4 965 220$
AM3 DDR3 good board 100$ NCIX.com - Buy ASUS M4A785TD-V Evo 785G Socket AM3 DDR3 2PCI-E16 1PCI-E1 3PCI Video Sound GBLAN 1394 Motherboard - M4A785TD-V EVO In Canada.
5770 around 180 NCIX.com - Buy Sapphire Radeon HD 5770 850MHZ 1GB 4.8GHZ GDDR5 PCI-E 2XDVI HDMI Display Port Lite Video Card V2 - 11163-02-20R In Canada.
4GB good memory around 120 NCIX.com - Buy Kingston ValueRAM KVR1333D3N9K2/4G PC3-10666 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1333 CL9 240PIN DIMM Memory Kit - KVR1333D3N9K2/4G In Canada.

and keep the rest of you setup. This will be a nice build for 625 just 25 over your budget and pricematch at NCIX is even cheaper. Also by selling your actual stuff for cheap you can put a little premium on this build. Don't forget to look at special and order from a single place will help you save on shipping!
