Default highish end gaming rig

i7 920 (was thinking of going xeon w3520 but i wont be doing any crazy oc'ing)
megahalems with 2 big fans unless i water cool (dont really want to water cool but if i have to then i will)
2 vapor-x 5850's crossfire'd
intel x25-m 80g ssd and a large capacity hdd of some sort
silverstone st1000-p power supply
3x 24" asus monitors eyefinity'd

what i cant decide on is a mobo.

was looking at rampage 2 gene. good price and a powerful piece but it runs hot as hell and its matx.

suggestions apreciated.

i'll just get a good set of 3x2gb memory thats compatible with the mobo

plan on oc'ing cpu to 3.5-3.8

thinking of building my own case. i do some 3d work on the side so i'd design it first. if i decide to be lazy then probably an antec 1200 or something else substantial

i think thats pretty much it

thankyou

I'dd go with G.skill ram. good stuff, less expensive than corsair's stuff.
As for the Motherboard, if your not into extreme overclocking, no need for an EVGA classified MoBo. I personnally got good experience with Gigabyte and their stuff is reliable and overclocks well. An UD3r would be plenty.
NCIX.com - Buy Gigabyte X58A-UD3R ATX LGA1366 X58 DDR3 4PCI-E SATA3 USB3.0 Sound GLAN CrossFireX SLI Motherboard - GA-X58A-UD3R In Canada.
At 230$, it's by far the best price/performance ratio board on LGA1366.
If you want a mid/high level board, i'dd get the ud5. The price tag isn't too high but does not offer much more than the 100$ cheaper UD3r which is already a complete board (usb3, sata3).

EVGA and corsair are seriously expensive and and it's (belong to me) pretty useless for a 3.8 overclock that can be achieved on an UD3r easily. heck, i'm doing 3.83 on a p55 UD2 board. The motherboard won't give you extra performance and you would not notice any difference in performance by going with corsair ram. I'dd spend some extras on storages, (better/larger or raid ssd's) or a 5970, or getting two 5870 instead of 5850.

Edit: at the ~340 price point, the evga on sale is a nice deal, but yet i'dd spend on something else.

i suggest AMD's Phenom II X4 and their newest chipset the 890GX.. they are pretty wicked at overclocking... i have an AMD 64 X2 oc'd @ 3.2 GHz from 2.5 GHz and its incredibly stable.. im using the 780G and it works pretty well
