Default Budget Build!

Hey i am building a computer for a friend and i am wanting to do a cheapish build under 500 dollars, while doing some gaming at the same time? Any ideas?

yup. start with a decent cm case, giga board and the amd athlon II or phenom II of your choice. dont skimp out on ram and psu(corsair,antec,etc)
for that price you wont be able to get much of a video card, i sugest to pick up a used gtx260 or 4870.

actually..for lower end intel is still the best bang for buck i think....giga g31/g41 board and intel e3300..should be around the 100(+~15$) dollar mark, wich gives you more room for the other components...get a 30-50$ case, doesnt have to be cm but hey.
that combo will give you a god 3.2-3.5 on stock heat sink. if you want to do things good, get a 212+ for ~25$
