Default opinions plz

i thought i had settled the motherboard question. however after trolling though the reviews section i have found good things about evga and their customer service.

i am gravitating towards the evga p55 ftw
and gskil ripjaws 4gb kit

i request opinions on this combo and any suggestions or corrections to my impressions about evga.

i should also say that i have no intentions of overclocking.

for the motherboard i am looking at spending $200 ish
for memory in the same neighborhood as the gskills

thx for any info

Well if you don't want to OC then you can go with something smaller like Asus P7P55d or something like that and it will be fair enough. For the ram she is nice. Just try to give us a bit more detail like what you will mainly do and other thing like that and we will help you more as we can;)

Default which board would be better

i have been searching and i found several

1.) asus p7p55d deluxe price match at ncix would be $198.97 before and $168.97 this one has 8 sata ports with 1 being 6gb/s

2.) evga p55 ftw $209.99 at ncix. after rebate is $179.99. this one has free shipping (ground) and 8 normal sata ports

and of course your nice suggestion the .............

3.) p7p55d-e pro. $211.19 at ncix. with price match $190.81. this one has 8 sata ports with two being 6gb/s

a bit of a variation in price and some features.

thx for advice and reading.

forgetful i am.

i plan on using the system to surf, watch movies and play crysis and various command and conquer games. budget is $650ish. i will be using my old case ( haf 932) power supply ( pcp&c 750watt)
13 or so hard drives, dvd/rw drive, sata controllers and of course fans. so all i am really buying is a new motherboard, processor and ram.

may have to check out a new power supply. will wait and see.
