What is the best gaming pc i can get for about 1200$ CAD?

Complete it and I should post something like that;)
I would go for something like this ( Im at school so I will be pertty simple )
Core I5 750
Asus P7P55D ( could go for the LE )
4GB G.skill memory ( cheap and reliable )
750W corsair ( always one sale at NCIX for like 100$ with MIR )
ATI Asus 5850 (asus because of the voltage tweak included with the card )
Case: Lancool K62 or 52 or any case you like, CM 690 2 pro is also one of the best market choice
WD 640 black
LG GH22NS50 for optical or a sony if you can find one they are using really good NEC chip
LG 2243 ( pretty good n cheap screen )
Windows 7 HP 64Bit OEM
with a cheap KB and a midrange mice like a 45$ microsoft can do a perfect job.

Should be in your budget if you PM all at NCIX and would be a killer
You can also add a coolermaster Hyper 212+ for cooling if you want some OC later;)

For $1200 you shoul be able to shop around" (Pricematch) and get yourself a 1366 I7. It will be tight with all the accessories but close to doable. Likely closer to $1400..

RJ...he is just gaming , I will go 750 .... and for the cooler the 212+ is more than enough.

^^^ Ha...yeah...well......I lean more towards the "upper half".....if you can afford it..get it....personally I have no experience building an I5 System...and have this stigma that it will be slower than my I7.....and in my books slower isn't acceptable.....No offense Mark or Matin...just like my 920..and know its performance capabilities.
I'm actually debating building another Rig and start out with a 1156 CPU in my Cart....next thing you know I'm right back to a 1366......then I give up and say fvck it...
I'll leave the new builds section to you guys that are more on top of the new technology ;)

RJ... I tell you the 750 beat the 920 in gaming at least on bench, I know I try both of them, and I keep my 750 .... in real you see no difference at all. but if you OC them at 4,0 ghz..you start to feel the difference, and you need only a 212+ to do so. they run very cold compare to a 920. Intel will have a real problem to sell i7 , even a cheap $ 145 cpu like the 540 , can compete again a $ 300 CPU in gaming the gap betwen cheap cpu and enthusiast one get closer every month. You can achieve 4,8 ghz more easily with a 540 than reach 4,0 ghz with a 920.. at least from what I read.. I will know soon I plan to build one with a 540 .

Perhaps thats the "nudge" I need...perhaps my next build will be a P55 1156 I5 then.....I know I like the looks of that Evga P55 Board........stubborn old bugger am sometimes....so my wife says too ;) Thanks Mark....

I know you like Evga. will not blame you they are very good. but have a look at the Maximus III Formula.. it have amazing feature.

I'm in the works of doing a i5 750 build for gaming, pretty much the exact specs martin metal 88 listed. Actually it is the same specs but I got a 1TB WD Black (I like Flac). From the benchmarks and the like I've seen this seems like the sweet spot for gaming at that budget.
