^^^^ what about this gigabyte board...is the sata 3 n usb 3 worth it or are their other "concerns" with this board?

Mark - that Asus is a sweet looking Board with some very cool features indeed, but think I want to "shave" the cost of this potential build a tad.

So anyhow, playing around with another potential future build...gotta mull it over, but came up with this:
Mobo - http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=42714
CPU - http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=42499
HSF - http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=41337
RAM - http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=42746
PSU - http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...9&promoid=1115
HDD - http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=34286
ODD - http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=45667
Case - http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=41135
OS - http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=45271

Kicks in at around $1275 without Pricematcing anything, could likely save $150v - $200 Pricematching.

I would throw my spare Vertex 120GB SSD and either one or both of my GTX 280's in here......new Fermi in my Primary......
Just not sure if the Gigabyte Board wirth SATA 3 / USB 3 is a etter way to o or "over-hyped"....

This looks to be what I need as well. I only want is for Flight Sim FSX and I plan to run one large 12ohz TV( in 3D) and one more 19"lcd for instruments. Could I build on this if I want to go multi monitor 3D at a later date? I guess I would also require a sound card too? Time to look for a GTX card me thinks .

I hate you Gerard . Gigabytes have some of the most solid board out here and I am using them for a long time. But I have use 2 P55 board from them and they have some little issue that they don't have with 775 or 1366. I don't know what they do with their bios but the team working on 1156 bios simply suck. There is little issue like with the USB legacy function that really piss me off. I also noticed certain board ( in the M series ) to have incompatibility with some ATI card ( 5850-5870 ). Otherwise they are still the best board out here IMO. I know GA is now fixing these issue because there is new bios out that fix some of these and new bios are coming according to GA rep so soon all these issue should be past. If you want a good board indeed P7P55D or the formula is pretty nice ( I am looking at it now ) EVGA have also few board that are not that expensive and that are killer.

Yeah thanks Martin....guess I'm partial to the Evga P55 FTW as the last two Boards I've had were X58 vanilla and X58 Classy....so I know and am comfortable with the BIOS, Flashing and great Forums....we'll see...may have to wait as I maybe going SLI Fermi 480's.........$$$$$$$.....

For sure, wait until Friday at least. By then, we should know if there's going to be a price drop on the 5800 series to compete with the Fermi cards. Who knows, maybe Nvidia might have a brain and not try to screw us with stupidly high prices.

Ahah don't count on that. Nvidia will probably wish for the fanboy to spend their college saving for it. Like they have done many time before.
