Default New OC build

ok I'm ready to order a motheboard to use with a i7-965 EE CPU, it will be chilled water, so I will have to isolate the board. I don't want a Classified, or a Rampage II , too expensive to scrap ............... I already have a Rampage II Gene ( actually I will have it tonight ) for my 920 DO , so I want something different, and a stable one, so let see what members have in mind ..

Would have imagined you getting a 980x, not a lowly 4 core cpu :P.

i don't know much about boards but,
how about using your existing "Rampage II Gen" with your " i7-965 EE" ,
and get a reasonably priced board for the "i7 920", like "EVGA 132-BL-E758-A1 "

goodluck with that

the gene will stay with the 920, it's a DO, I want to test Air Colling with it. and aside my Koolance block do not fit on the Gene, the capacitor are too close to the socket.

the 965 is a CO, so it heat more, and you can adjust the clock since it's a EE, so I do not need to water the board,

from what I seen in previus old PCs, Gigabyte always loads thier boards with features, but the quilty of the build is thier last priority.

I remember last machine doesn't recognise USB keybord, only PS/2.

though, I might be wrong, but my saying is based on an old experince.

:)
