New Build, From Scatch

Well, ive been out of the game for a small bit here so have gotten a bit behind on whats all new right now lol. So anyway, with Tax returns coming up soon a friend of mine asked him to pick out parts for a new computer, right from scratch and I agreed. So now if you don't mind i may lean really heavily on you guys again for good advice lol (though i give you all the credit, tis why i own 2 Hardware Canucks T-Shits lol)

So neway

1. What YOUR PC will be used for.

It will be a gaming rig, pure and simple. The main game is WoW (ooo i know that is a hard one lol ), but he would also like the ability to pick up any game off the shelf and play it well.

2. What YOUR budget is.

The budget is a strict 1500 after tax, the price will have to include all the parts of the rig, operating system, cheap keyboard, monitor (22inch), and mouse.

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

Why from Canada of course

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture.

Best bang for the buck, couldnt care less for brand on this rig

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.

He has no parts and im not sparing any of mine

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.

Ive been looking but I just dont see anything that I feel quite fits

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.

Their may be a light overclock but not much as I would probably be the one to teach him this. But its probably safer if he stays out of the bios

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?

Tax Return time (so within a few months)

9. What resolution do you use?

1680x1050

I would go for something like this ( Im at school so I will be pertty simple )
Core I5 750
Asus P7P55D ( could go for the LE )
4GB G.skill memory ( cheap and reliable )
750W corsair ( always one sale at NCIX for like 100$ with MIR )
ATI Asus 5850 (asus because of the voltage tweak included with the card )
Case: Lancool K62 or 52 or any case you like, CM 690 2 pro is also one of the best market choice
WD 640 black
LG GH22NS50 for optical or a sony if you can find one they are using really good NEC chip
LG 2243 ( pretty good n cheap screen )
Windows 7 HP 64Bit OEM
with a cheap KB and a midrange mice like a 45$ microsoft can do a perfect job.

Should be in your budget if you PM all at NCIX and would be a killer
You can also add a coolermaster Hyper 212+ for cooling if you want some OC later;)

+1 with Martin.... all true a logitech mouse at $ 10-15 do the job too

some will say that a 750w is overkill, I will say that leave room for expansion anyway here a link of the 750 at $ 99 after rebate and lower the one of a 650 at $118,99 , so why settle for less

Fixed The 5850 put him over budget, or he might've not had enough for a decent case/psu/hsf, so I dropped it down to a 5770. It's still a great card and the Gigabyte board can Xfire another one if he wants it later on.

Also maybe he could replace those 32Gb drives for something with more space, he mentioned he runs WoW, the installation of that game with the expansions is over 12GBs alone.
